iStalk Wednesdays: Samantha M. (aka. BeautyCrush)

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Welcome back to my blog and to another segment of iStalk Wednesdays! :)

It's been a great Christmas so far and I just can't wait for New Years Eve because I am thinking about the look I'll be pulling off for the family gathering that night. It's very sparkly and flashy, you have to start the year with the right gear! You'll be seeing pictures of that night later on.

Anyhow! I've been stalking Samantha Maria (aka. BeautyCrush/MizsMaria/DollHouseXo) since 2010 and I have to say that she has been an inspiration since then. This year, I've watched her 24 lovely "Vlogmases" since December 1st, but is all done now and I thought it would be appropriate to feature her as one of my favorite "style icons" for this week.

You have probably already seen her YouTube videos and are most obsessed (like me) with her accent and style as well as beauty tips, but if you haven't you should check her out!

She's a 23 year old youtube/tumblr/blogspot blogger from London who has an impeccable taste in style, which I absolutely love! She has been featured in a MissGuided video with a bunch of other kickass bloggers and also on numerous fashion magazines like Company, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and more. For more information from this inspiring fashion blogger I linked ways of contacting her below.

Here are some of my favorite photographs of her rockin' different styles:

iStalk Wednesday: Cara Delevingne

Hello!

Wow... I had to dust off this blog because I have been so busy I haven't had enough time to sit and write.
I'm finishing my teaching practice hours and I am very proud to say that everything has been doing great!

I wanted to start off by saying Happy Thanksgiving Eve! I'm getting ready to eat with family and friends tomorrow. I hope you have a blast and eat a lot of good food!

Okay, enough chit chat. Let's begin.

You've seen her around magazines, pictures, posters and billboards.
She's Burberry's girl! Ms. Cara Delevingne

This model takes amazing pictures. She has this great face structure and blue eyes that almost kill.
I'm in love with her own personal style (:
The rock-punk look fits her perfectly and I know that if she throws on some pretty dress it'll suit her too.

She's a British, 20 year old top model from London and she is also the "Star Face" for British Vogue in Autumn/Winter 2012-2013.

Enjoy her style and work as a young, inspiring fashion top model!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Review: Katy Perry's: Part of Me (Movie)

Hello peeps (:

I wanted to write a short review about a movie I didn't think I was going to see. Countless times, I thought to myself that it was just a waste of money watching a movie about Katy Perry’s life since I thought I saw it all on an “E!” special show about her ever-growing career . Then, I challenged myself to take a deeper look into her life changing experience once she lost the love of her life. After all, she is a human being who is just trying to work hard to be herself and make a positive change in the world with her corky, fun and cool attitude.

The Internet is a huge place with millions and billions of news about artists and what they said about certain aspects of their personal lives and it made me really think positively about the opportunity of watching a real artist struggling with her life and emotions.

I did not watch the movie on 3D, just because it gives me headaches and I like it old-school. Plus, its way cheaper just the regular way J. My friends and I enjoyed the realness of the movie; everything about it was absolutely inspiring and real. People recorded videos on YouTube talking about how she inspires them and how important is being true to yourself. This shows how values are so important in society. It made me see Katy Perry as a person who just wants the absolute best for her and everyone.

The film also showed her ups and downs about her relationship with Russell Brand. This is one of the main reasons I wanted to watch the movie. I was so interested in knowing how everything went crumbling down. She made the best she could do in keeping the relationship alive and it just wasn't enough for either of them. Watching this part of the movie was where I just couldn't help but to cry. I think all of us who had a strong relationship with someone would just fall apart while experiencing this type of pain Katy Perry went through. She broke down, she cried, but she NEVER gave up. She stood up, got herself together and kept the show going. She is a go getter and a true winner. This made me proud of the $6.75 I spent to go watch Katy Perry’s: Part of Me with my friends.

All in all, it is a great movie. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to sing, dance, cry and smile because it does take you to different stages. Well done, Ms. Katy! 4 Stars out of 5!

PS: I gave it 4 stars because the focus of the camera they were using was crazy and it made me blink a bunch of times.

ChitChats & Summer 2012 Must-Haves

Happy Summer!

My summer has been so far so good at the time. I had trouble with my current working position but I'm working on applying for another job and I haven't had any luck yet but I know something will come along. For the moment, i'll just relax and enjoy the summer vacations before college starts again.

Let's begin with my favorite summer fashions.
I've been super into this whole high messy bun hair style. The heat in Puerto Rico is crazy this summer. Therefore, this has been my lay-off from the hot weather hairstyle.

Messy Bun Hairstyle

As you may know, summer is the ideal time for going to the beach. This means swimsuits are a priority and you have to feel good in what you have on. My favorite style for swimsuit season is Pin-Up (high waisted bottom and halter top) I bought a black one in Old Navy for a great price. Your body should be flattering while having a swimsuit on. I try to follow any good tips given on articles so I can conquer my favourite swimsuit look. Always try to choose wisely on swimwear or it can backfire.

Another summer must-have are shades! Protecting your pretty eyes from the sun with shades is like having no sun-block when going out in the daylight. Ray-Bans are my go to when out on the sun but I've also seen adorable Coach sunglasses. There are other corky styles around like the "cat eye" look on sunglasses. It's kind of edgy and fun to style.

A very important point to have in mind this summer is taking care of your skin. This year has been one of the hottest here in Puerto Rico and I have to constantly avoid the UV rays from my skin. I've tried two very good sunscreen lotions that have protected me in a great way. The first one is Neutrogena's SPF 85+ sunscreen lotion. I've used it on my face and body over the summer and it feels and smells good. I have no complain over it. Walgreens is one of the carriers and it costs about $10.99. The sunscreen that I've been using for the beach is the Banana Boat Sport SPF 50 and it is also a great sun-block for the water since is water and sweat resistant. Keep always in mind that this is an important part. To use sun-block these days is a must and even more over the summer.

I hope you are having the greatest summer!

Have fun in the sun and be safe (:

This is me.

When once upon a dreamer became the dream...

Good evening!

I've never been so on and off on the blogging community. My most sincere apologies.
The reasons for my absence is simply because of wonders of life. It's been hectic between college and work,
but thank God I can write again!!

I just finished reading a marvellous book about a day dreamer who is head-over-heels in love with vintage everything (particularly clothing) It was truly a ride reading this story. It takes you from the present to the past in a snap. An amazing book written by Bianca Turetsky called The Time-Traveling Fashionista is a must-have in you book collections if you have a unique and exclusive taste in fashion.

The story begins with a young girl named Louise Lambert who is passionate about vintage clothes and has a best friend who does not share her passion. One day Louise finds a strange envelope, an invitation with her name on it that reads "You have been invited to The Time-Traveling Fashionista Sale" where she decides to go and finds herself with two nice, strange and comical ladies.

(Both pictures from the book, Louise as Ms. Baxter)

That is just a very short part of the story because I don't want to give it all away. It is an entertaining book that can uplift your spirit and make you gain confidence in who you really are. I give this book a 5 out of 5 because it kept me on the edge and it was fun to read. I found it at American Eagle for around $8.00 and I don't regret a penny.

I encourage you to read it and discover in this book a past that is everlasting in our present.

Once again, thank you for reading!

When one star falls another star rises: The 2012 Grammy's

Hey!
Welcome back to my personal blog!

Tonight I will be giving out my personal opinion about The 54th Annual Grammy's celebrated Sunday, February 12. Also, I am going to countdown my favorite looks of the night.

The Grammy's is a special night where all types of music artists from different genres sit down in a room. I believe in diversity and union between people. While watching the Grammy's on Sunday, I noticed how forgotten country music is for those who are in the music industry. Even though is not my cup of coffee, it is still good music and it should be respected. I felt that they were SO isolated from other artists like Nicky Minaj, Katy Perry and Rihanna. It was a little disturbing watching the Grammy's because of this issue.

Another point is how weird it was for me to see LL Cool J (as the master of ceremony for this event) begin with a prayer to Whitney Huston while holding a paper and reading it. Of course, it wasn't rehearsed but at least just say few words that come from your heart and just be sincere. Reading a paper with a prayer does not make you any less than anyone but IT IS the Grammy's and it should be more special.

On positive notes, there were great performances at The 2012 Grammy's. I personally loved Chris Brown's performance that began with full energy and was very fun to watch him bust out great moves. My second favorite performance was from The Foo Fighters, who gave out two great shows which exuded true passionate feelings for music.

There were also hit and misses on the red carpet. I think that music artists have a distinct way of expressing themselves. Clothing is one of them. They are always out and about when it comes to clothing and accessories. That is why I love the Grammy's red carpet. I'll post pictures (from one to three) of the ones I think took the crown on this special night for music.

An spectacular look by Kelly Osbourne (as my #3) in this
one-sholder silver gown by Tony Ward couture.

Rihanna (as my #2) looked stunning wearing a black silk
Giorgio Armani gown, Christian Louboutin shoes and Jimmy Choo clutch.
Even though Alicia Keys and Rihanna wore the same shoes,
I think Rihanna had a better walk-in-the-park with them.

And finally, the one who took almost all the Grammy's home. Adele Adkins. Breath-taking, super beautiful in this cinched-waist three-quarter sleeve sequin gown (custom made for her) by Giorgio Armani.

The Grammy's were glory for Adele and the other winners. But, it was also a night of tears because of the sudden death of an admiring voice, beautiful soul and spectacular talent by Whitney Huston. She will always be in the heart of those who love her talent. May she rest in peace in the heavens and sing with all angels. Amen.

Share any favorite and worst Grammy moments of your own on the box below.
As always, thank you for reading :)
