My Point of View: Losing Weight The Healthy Way!

Losing weight is never easy but with a good eating habit, exercise and TONS of water you can sure make it to your ideal weight. I've always been going to the gym, but not doing the right diet messed me up a bit. At this point of my life (20's) I'm just looking forward to have a healthier lifestyle. My road to a healthy diet started last week (Monday, April 19 - to be exact) and It's been going great. The diet consists in bunch of great food like meat, chicken, salads and some chocolate snacks and vanilla shakes. BUT the little trick in all of this is the portions of each meal and snack. I'll give you a simple example of how my body gets healthy and satisfied each day.
My ideal breakfasts are:

1 cup of cereal (special K, Cheerios multi-grain or Quakers crunchy corn bran)
1/2 cup of milk (for the cereal)
8oz of orange juice (110 cals)
1 cup of coffee (with milk)

OR

1 boiled egg
8oz of orange juice
1 cup of coffee (with milk)

OR

1 slice of wheat bread
1 slice of low-fat Turkey
1 slice of Velveeta cheese
(I put those all together)

1 cup of orange juice
1 cup of coffee (with milk)

My ideal snack (after 2 hours and a half):
Every snack has to be 150 calories or less

1 Glucerna shake (I use this because is low on sodium and sugar, it's what diabetic people should eat only good thing is I'm not diabetic and is surprisingly yummy)

OR

1 Chewy Glucerna Chocolate Snack Bar's (I would eat this instead of a snicker and It's only 140 cals)

My ideal lunches:

4oz of any meat/chicken (stay away from everything fried)
Salad (lettuce, carrot, pickles, banana peppers, tomatoes... etc)
(You can have as many salad as you want.)
Salad dressing: Extra virgin oil and vinegar.

Drink:
Tons of water
Or
8oz of crystal light (any flavor)
Or
8oz or Tropicana Light Fruit Punch

OR

1 cup of rice
1/2 cup of beans
2oz of meat
Salad (as many as you want.)

(same drinks as above)

OR

On subway (since I loooove subway)
1 mini-sub tuna sandwich with light mayonnaise on wheat bread
and I would add all the veggies desired with oil and vinegar

(same drinks as above)

Then I would do one of the snacks again after 2 1/2 hours and then wait 2 1/2 hours more so I could eat dinner.

If I get hungry @ night I would just eat cereal and water or any snacks mentioned above.

I'm very excited about my diet and exercising. Hopefully I would start being more conscious about how great is living a healthy lifestyle. My #1 coach is one of my favorite aunts, she's always calling me and asking me what I ate that day and how did I feel. It's a great help having her around as a coach and a motivator. She has done the Jenny Craig diet and have lost around 40 pounds. My aunt has found a better way to follow the same rules as the Jenny Craig diet with the steps I manage to follow on this diet. Always remember, your always beautiful no matter what, but maintaining a healthy life is more than looks.

PS: This is just my way of seeing the diet. I'm not encouraging you to follow it. I'm not a Doctor but this diet has worked for me. I recommend you see a Doctor before you start any kind of diet because this will help you know your body and know how to work with it.

Have you tried any diets?
Which ones?
Do you think this is a good diet to follow?
All comments are welcome :)

Quote of the month: Lou Holtz

I find this quote very inspirational. It's one of my personal favorites.

"Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it."

Smart and sweet words by a retired American football coach and active sport caster, author, and motivational speaker, Lou Holtz.
Thanks LOU!

Multi - Shot 16 from Nikon Digital Cam's

I wanted to share this with my readers :D
I've been using the "multi-shot 16" for quite a while and I love how the pictures turn out. It takes 16 pictures in one frame :) The camera does snap fast but the pics come out pretty cool. IF you are wondering what kind of cam I use is the Nikon Coolpix L18 (not the BEST camera out there but is pretty good for what I use it for.)

Take a look:

Dressing up for college this morning was kind of hard...

Shopping for college clothes is sometimes easy. Add a nice top (tee-shirt, tank top, etc.) jeans, a romper or a dress and cute boots, sandals, flats or (like I'm wearing today) a small heel shoe. I've always known the basics for "how to dress up for college" but this morning I changed 7 times and I'm still not too satisfied with what I have on. This is because I wanted my outfit to look a bit different. My routine every night is finding what I'm gonna wear to college the next day, but this time I just thought about possible outfits. Maybe that's why it's a problem for me to feel confident in what I have on now. I'll take pictures when I get home or early on the day so I can share my look-of-the-day. It sucks not feeling confident enough... It's only 9:31am, let's see where my day takes me.

UPDATE:

This is what I was wearing on Wednesday.
After a while I learned to like it, but I still wasn't too sure.

I wore:
Black shirt with rhinestone-like details from Zara
Distressed gray skinny jeans from Solo-Mahones
New black oxfords from Payless Shoe Source

What do you think? Honestly.

I just got hit by an Oxfords sale!

This post was inspired by one of my friend's (an awesome blogger) Shopie from Diary Of A Young Designer

As many of you know, "Playless" is bringing nice shoes to it's company lately (AT LAST!) I went to the store and found the most adorable pair of black oxford shoes that I can wear with anything I own. I'm so excited because they are not only awesomely CUTE but they were cheap! I'm talking $13.00US bucks! And of course I had to buy something else cause it was "bogo" season (and you don't want to miss that chance!) I took a set of 3 (very cute!) different pairs of earrings (yay for not having "plugs" anymore!).

Here is a picture with moi wearing them:

I really can't wait to have a gathering with my friends and just chill with our pj's while eating popcorn and watching the new season of each one. I've never been so inlove with any other series but those two (oh! and americas next top model fer suuuure). The teaser made my jaw drop and an "omg" came out, so you can imagine :$

I know is not EVERYONES favorite show, so my question is this:

Lady Gaga (Covers)

I'm sorry but Gaga was the pioneer and this guys are just followers (in a good way). Around the web, I found 2 Lady Gaga covers who are fantastic (for my taste of music) and I want to share them with you :)

First, the "Bad Romance" cover. when I found this one out it blew my mind away because is SO good it made me speechless for a while. I give you; 30 Seconds to Mars.

On the other corner we have a very different cover for Lady G's "Telephone" but still very interesting and fun. This band is called Pomplamoose.

Check them both out and let me know whatcha think ;)
